Pre-Fathering Education Program Model for Military Servicemen

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop the pre-fathering education program for military serviceman and to examine the effect of the program. Today the need for fathering education is increasing as father\'s role is changed from secondary to primary role. This program was developed for soldiers to have a right understanding on father\'s role. The researchers developed the program which included three levels. The first part was designed to provide servicemen the knowledge about sex and love. The second part provides the information on marriage, and finally the third part was designed for fathering and caring. The program model was tested in two armies and evaluated the effect of the program using pretest and posttest. The results show that the program proved very useful and helpful to the soldiers and future fathers.
