Abstract
This study aims to examine the mediating effect of meaning in life and the moderated mediation effect of protean career attitude in the relationship between differentiation of self and resilience. In contemporary society, adult adaptation occurs through the interaction between individuals’ psychological resources and career-related attitudes. Accordingly, this study integrated both psychological developmental factors and career developmental factor. A survey was conducted with 672 adults in their 30s and 40s, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 31.0, AMOS 26.0 and PROCESS macro 4.2. The results indicated that differentiation of self had a significant effect on resilience through meaning in life. In addition, protean career attitude was found to moderate the relationship between meaning in life and resilience. Furthermore, the moderated mediation effect was significant, suggesting that protean career attitude may function as a conditional factor that strengthens the link between psychological resources and adaptation in adulthood. This study contributes by examining the relationship between psychological and career-related factors and provides implications for counseling and educational interventions to support adult adaptation.
