The Effect of the Divorce Experience in Exosystem Environment on Values of High School Student: Centered on Values of Marriage, Divorce, Cohabitation, and Sexual Attitude

Abstract

Recently there has been a steady increase in divorce rate among the Korean married, it has been assumed that the attitudes towards divorce of adolescents changed as a consequence. The purpose of this study is to examine the impacts of divorce on adolescents in exosystem environment. The data were collected by questionnaire from 334 respondents who high school students resided in Seoul and Ansan. Statistical method for the data analysis were frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Sheffe\'s post hoc comparison analysis, and Pearson\'s Correlation. Results are as follow: 1) The divorce experience in exosystem environment was considerably high(49.7%). 2) The data analysis revealed that there exists significant differences in the attitudes of marriage and divorce. It\'s mean that divorce is not a singular life event; instead, it is a social matter of concern. So, it needed strong family programs for adolescent which is emphasized multiple levels of the surrounding environment and interactions in several contexts or systems.
