The Relationship of between Family Environment and functional ․dysfunctional Perfectionism in University female students

Abstract

The Purpose of this study is to find out relationship among perfectionism, parents\' attitude, family cohesion & adaptability, attachment styles. The subjects were selected from 257 university female students and data were collected with questionnaires. Data were analyzed with Pearson\'s r, Multiple Regression and ANOVA. The results of this study are following. First, in the research of the relationship between parents‘ attitude and perfectionism, as the level of mother\'s acceptable attitude was higher, self-oriented perfectionism of daughter were increased. Second, in the research of the relationship between family cohesion & adaptability and perfectionism, as the level of family adaptability was lower, socially prescribed perfectionism of daughter were increased. Third, there was a differences in the degree of socially prescribed perfectionism due to attachment styles of their mother.
